Clery Geography

BYU regularly reviews its property and facilities to determine its Clery geography. Only Clery Act crimes occurring within BYU’s Clery geography must be reported by CSAs to the university and are included in the Annual Security Report statistics.

Based upon its analysis of the relevant law and regulation, BYU has determined that, as of January 1, 2024, BYU’s Clery geography includes at least the following:

  • Main campus, Provo, UT
  • Aspen Grove, Provo, UT
  • Barlow Center (Washington Seminar floors only), Washington, DC
  • BYU-contracted housing, Provo, UT
  • Golf Practice Facility, American Fork, UT
  • Ironton Storage Site, Springville, UT
  • Lytle Nature Preserve, Ivins, UT
  • Motion Picture Studio, Provo, UT
  • Philanthropies Building parking lot and sidewalks, Provo, UT
  • Salt Lake Center, Salt Lake City, UT
  • Spring Haven Lodge, Springville, UT
  • Timpanogos Lodge, Provo, UT
  • Wasatch Elementary School, Provo, UT
  • West Mountain Observatory, Payson, UT
  • Y-Mountain Trail and Parking Lot, Provo, UT
